Congratulations to our Awards for Excellence Winners!

Last night, at our Third Annual Awards for Excellence, we were thrilled to honor outstanding achievement in affordable housing and each of our honorees for having exemplified a positive impact on community revitalization.

This year's winner for Upstate Project of the Year went to Albany South End Revitalization Phase III. This phase is an integral portion of the overall revitalization project and is a crucial addition to the Capital District. South End Revitalization has helped transform the neighborhood into a vibrant, mixed-use community providing new affordable housing units.

Our Downstate Project of the Year for 2014 is Coney Island Commons in Brooklyn, NY. This project has aided in the revitalization of Surf Avenue – which was once a renowned beach resort – but has suffered decades of decline and disinvestment. Coney Island Commons has generated new opportunities for residents and the Coney Island neighborhood at large.

We were proud to honor Housing Visions, Inc. as Nonprofit Partner of the Year. Housing Visions is a recognized leader in affordable housing and community outreach throughout Upstate New York. For over twenty years, Housing Visions has exemplified leadership through programs that improve quality of life.

The 2014 Housing Advocate of the Year award went to Eric Enderlin, Deputy Commissioner for Development and Senior Policy Advisor at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). Eric leads the development team at HPD and has had a tremendous impact on affordable housing development across NYC's five boroughs.

Congratulations to all of our honorees, and thank you for your commitment to advancing affordable housing throughout New York State!
