REQUEST FOR NOMINATIONS:  2011 UPSTATE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE 

At the 8th Upstate New York State Affordable Housing Conference on September 27, we will honor special achievement in affordable housing development with the first annual Upstate Awards for Excellence.  Awards are noted for accomplishments in Upstate New York State in 2010/2011.

Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:

Green Preservation Project of the Year:  The award will be presented to the developer and will recognize excellence in energy efficiency, design, construction techniques, financing, affordability, community need and supportive services.  Nominees should be those projects that have had a particularly positive impact on the field of green affordable housing development.  The project must have been completed and placed in service prior to June 30, 2011.

Rural Development Project of the Year: The award will be presented to the developer and will recognize excellence in design, financing, construction techniques, affordability, community need, supportive services, and energy efficiency.  Nominees should be those projects in rural areas that have had a positive impact on community development. The project must have been completed and placed in service prior to June 30, 2011.

Please complete the nomination form and submit it with any attachments (written descriptions should not exceed 250 words) no later than September 15, 2011 to elizabeth@nysafah.org.  Members may nominate themselves, other members, or non-members; feel free to nominate a project in which you are a participant or hold a financial interest.  You may make separate nominations in more than one category. 

Award winners will be announced at the conference!
