Workforce Housing Solutions.
Workforce housing is an economic imperative for New York State.  Increasingly, we hear about workers who spend four hours commuting, about municipalities that cannot hire because potential employees have no access to housing, about employers that locate based on the availability of affordable housing.  This panel will discuss the need for affordable workforce housing, both upstate and downstate.  It will also examine successful strategies, financing toolsm and new ideas to make these projects succeed.

Strengthening Communities:  A Focus on Historic Preservation and Affordable Housing.
This panel will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with the rehabilitation of historic properties for affordable housing.  We will showcase successful projects, explore the financial incentives available, and discuss other tools that encourage the development of affordable housing as part of historic renovations and strengthening communities.

The State of the Market for Affordable Housing Development.
Affordable housing development in New York is influenced by global, national and local economic trends. The panelists will discuss how the tightening of the credit and equity markets and changes in the local economy directly and indirectly affect affordable housing development.
