The New NYC Building Code.
The new NYC Building Code will take effect on July 1, bringing with it sweeping changes.  This panel will discuss the impact these changes will have on affordable multi-family development.  The panel will also discuss how these changes will affect costs and promote green design.  Finally the panel will cover the implementation and long term goals of the new code.

Changing Federal Housing Policies: An Interactive Discussion.
This panel will discuss what the housing industry can expect from a change in Washington as well as what we should require of a new administration. How will regulatory barriers, housing subsidies, tax policies and financial incentives change and what does our industry really want the federal government to do. This will be an interactive discussion with participants asked to weigh in on how they think federal policies should be shaped in a new administration.

Green criteria, including Energy Star and LEED, are becoming important components of most city and state housing programs.  Meet the developers, consultants, and government officials that have successfully taken green buildings from design development to occupancy, and discover resources and processes that allow you to build and finance these buildings.

Senior Housing:  Possibilities & Hurdles.

IDA Bond Financing for Affordable Housing.
Local industrial development agencies, which can issue tax-exempt bonds to finance affordable housing, are an important but underused resource.  This panel will explore the role of IDAs, the process and the parties involved in IDA transactions, and the opportunities and challenges of working with IDAs relative to other bond issuers.
